The expansion of large-scale battery storage plays a key role in the energy transition, but also creates new challenges for electricity grids and market design. At the same time, a range of regulatory approaches for battery storage are currently being developed \u2014 from grid tariffs and technical connection requirements to flexible grid connection agreements. Without a coordinated overall framework, there is a risk of conflicting incentives, unnecessary restrictions, and higher financing costs for battery projects.<\/p>\n

This study therefore develops a coherent concept for the system-friendly integration of large-scale batteries into electricity markets and grids. The analysis focuses on instruments such as dynamic grid tariffs, redispatch arrangements, system stability requirements, and approaches to grid financing. The objective is to preserve investment incentives for battery storage while reducing grid congestion and negative impacts on system operation.<\/p>\n
