Renewables integration cost
Client: Agora Energiewende
Published: 2015
Wind and solar provide electricity when the weather dictates, and the costs of integrating them into power systems are central to debates on the cost of renewables — yet their proper measurement is hotly contested among academics and policymakers. For Agora Energiewende, Neon reviewed the evidence and advised the think tank in preparing an overview paper on the debate, structuring the different perspectives on integration costs. The work built on two expert workshops in Berlin and Paris, organized together with IDDRI, which Neon helped run.
